Kushiyaki pop-up at Conrad Singapore Marina Bay

The month of September sees a homecoming of fire and flavour as Singaporean chef Reif Othman brings his cult-favourite Reif Japanese Kushiyaki concept in Dubai to Singapore for the first time.

Happening at The Terrace and Oscar’s – the two outdoor venues at Conrad Singapore Marina Bay, the one-month pop-up offers diners the opportunity to savour some of his signature dishes that have made Reif Japanese Kushiyaki one of the Middle East’s most sought-after dining spots.

The Wagyu katsu sando has pillowy milk bread sandwiching tender Wagyu beef with mustard mayo.

Available from 5pm to midnight at The Terrace (additional lunch hours from noon to 2:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays) are kushiyaki, sandos and desserts that showcase the chef’s unconventional take on Japanese cuisine.

Skewers are grilled over open flames and finished with chef Reif’s creative flair.

With multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand wins and a Chefs’ Choice Award by MENA’s 50 Best under his belt, chef Reif has thoughtfully adapted his dishes for the Singapore palate. Highlights include the aromatic truffle udon, the umami-packed mushroom donabe rice and the Wagyu katsu sando that has pillowy milk bread sandwiching tender Wagyu beef with mustard mayo.

The aromatic truffle udon beckons at The Terrace.

Over at Oscar’s, chef Reif takes over the outdoor grill from Wednesdays to Saturdays (6pm to 10pm) to fire off his punchy skewers à la minute. Don’t miss his Angus beef with truffle mayo and his sweet corn with ponzu butter. The kushiyaki is included as part of the Sea, Smoke & Spice buffet, priced from $96.
