Osteria Mozza reopens at Ion Orchard

Pizza lovers flocking to Osteria Mozza’s new home at Ion Orchard will continue to find the same quality ingredients and heartfelt hospitality that they have experienced when the popular one-Michelin-starred Los Angeles restaurant’s only Asian outpost debuted 15 years ago at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

In a contemporary but warmth atmosphere set by rich timber, dark wood, supple leather and carefully layered lighting, pizza-philes can enjoy their familiar favourites of Fennel Sausage ($32), Salame ($30) and BLT ($32) while also checking out new flavour like the Spicy Tomato ($24) featuring tomato passato, dried chilli flakes and Sicilian oregano.

A celebration of Italian flavours with California at its heart.

To lend these offerings a light, airy interior and crisp crust, they are baked in a long, paddle-shaped form in a high-performance oven as the new space is unable to house a traditional wood-burning oven. These pizzas are headed under the menu selection of pizza alla pala where pala means “paddle” in Italian.

Other new additions include piadina sandwiches, which are available exclusively at lunch. Suited for business lunches and those on the go, the piadina uses pizza dough (made in-house daily) that is shaped to be folded over into a sandwich, which will be a base for different fillings. Filling choices include Nancy’s Chopped Salad ($24) with caciocavallo, pepperoncini and salami; Tuna ($26) with hard-cooked egg, capers and anchovy; Chicken Parmigiana ($29) prepared with vodka; or Westholme Skirt Steak ($38) with caramelised onions and fresh greens.
