Lovers of baijiu ( 白酒), sake and soju will have a field day at Resorts World Sentosa’s Equarius Hotel from September 6 to 8 as Jiu Asia returns for its second year.
Dedicated to Asian-origin spirits, Jiu Asia 2024 celebrates the rich traditions, history, and craftsmanship of over 100 Asian and selected international brands, which attendees will get to sample.
At the three-day expo, aficionados, collectors and investors will be able to uncover new spirits, explore offerings from independent bottlers and local brands, and participate in a silent auction featuring hidden gems and some of the world’s rarest and most coveted spirits such as an 80-year-old and 50-year-old moutai (茅台) as well as a Diaoyutai State Guesthouse 50th Anniversary bottle (钓鱼台国宾馆50周年纪念酒).
Also available are Chinese liquor products that include Moutai Bulao (茅台不老) coffee and ice cream, persimmon wine and porcelain gin (百色林金酒). Apart from Chinese spirits, attendees will also find unique hot sake varieties and savour an exclusive tasting of Irish Poitín, the precursor to Irish whiskeys.
There will also be masterclasses by industry experts like Rickesh Kishnani of Rare Whisky Holdings and renowned local whisky collector Keith Chong. Premium baijiu brand Jing Tang (劲唐) will also present a premium baijiu masterclass at its exclusive launch.
This year’s Jiu Asia sees the inaugural Jiu Mix Cocktail Contest where top bartenders and mixologists will showcase their skills to vie to be the Pro Series champion, who will secure coveted guest shifts at some of Singapore’s top bars. The Open Series winner will gain exclusive internship and training opportunities.
A standard one-day pass goes at $50 per person and includes an exclusive tasting glassware, access to one masterclass, booth tastings and food sampling. The premium three-day pass has already been sold out. Find out more here.
