Beef & Foie Gras Highlight at Ellenborough Market Café

From now till October 30 on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the buffet dinner spread at Ellenborough Market Café casts the spotlight on beef and foie gras which are prepared in a variety of styles and available on rotational basis.

Foie gras indulgence

Enjoy the rich and fatty flavours of the foie gras in classic French style as a pâté with duck rillettes and toasted brioche, or go local with the smoky Char Kway Teow where pieces of foie gras in lieu of pork lard lend a nutty, rich bite to each forkful of noodles, and likewise for the fried rice – an umami-packed dish which surprises with bursts of savouriness with each piece of foie gras.

For the highlight, head over to the grill station to find heaps of sautéed foie gras where you can add a dollop of berry compote for some bright acidity to balance out the richness.

Beefy goodness

Beef lovers can revel in the juicy and tender slow-braised beef where the fall-off-the-bone meat and gravy pair wonderfully with rice, bread or potatoes. Diners who like a stronger kick may opt for the piquant and creamy red beef curry with eggplant. The special menu also sees beef satay on top of its standard chicken satay.

The pièce de résistance awaits at the carving station where a chef slices off heavenly chunks of meat from the tomahawk steak, which is cooked to a nice medium and best paired with the savoury jus.
