Singapore – Formerly known as Skyve Elementary Bistro and Bar, the restaurant now has not only a new name, but also a new chef and menu as well. Executive chef Jachin Tan joined his sister and owner Celine Tan, after honing his culinary skills in the United States and Australia for a decade. He describes his culinary style as organic and back-to-basics, which allows the natural flavours of the ingredients to shine.
New on the menu is the selection of oysters, namely the Chilean oyster, mentaiyaki Oyster and the classic English Kilpatrick oyster, each with a unique combination of ingredients such as serrano ham, red wine vinegar, mentaiko, ebiko, bacon and chives. Ask the owner, who is also a knowledgeable wine lover, to recommend a suitable wine to pair with your food. Skyve Wine Bistro offers over 70 labels of affordable quality wines from both Old and New World, spanning countries like France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Australia and New Zealand. Tan prices her wines 30 to 50 per cent cheaper than others to encourage more people to experiment and explore.
