his season, afternoon tea regulars at The Lobby Lounge will feel that their taste buds have ventured into an orchard where a variety of savoury treats and sweets cleverly infused with the flavours of seasonal fruit awaits. InterContinental Singapore’s executive pastry chef Ben Goh has collaborated with RaviFruit to come up with 13 creations presented in an elegant two-tier stand of savouries along with the sweets in gold-rimmed display cases reminiscent of terrariums.
Savoury highlights include the satisfying ratatouille quiche, the prawn with avocado and grapefruit emulsion that makes it all so appetising, the tuna with risotto that intrigues with a coconut-lime dressing, and the smoked salmon sandwich that combines well with brie cheese, chives and horseradish cream.
A sweet treat that is certain to excite the taste buds is the mandarin orange crémeaux and carrot jelly. So too is the chocolate cone with strawberry beetroot cream. It is best to finish off with the ruby peach and yuzu praline to leave a refreshing note on the palate.
The Classic Afternoon Tea: The Orchard also features a live station where guests may enjoy unlimited servings of à la minute crêpes and ice cream.
